*Event description of promoter*: In order to produce an artistic work - be it a book, print or portfolio - in print, it is important to have basic knowledge about pre-press. This optimises communication with the printer, makes technical terms more understandable and avoids potential mistakes in the preparation for print production. In this seminar, participants learn the basics of preparing a document in InDesign for print production. It will be explained which technical requirements have to be observed when transferring a printable file to the print shop. Participants will create a printable sample layout for production, export it and package the document for the print shop as an InDesign file. - Pre-settings in InDesign: Creating a print document - Bleed, crop marks and info area - What are spot colours and how do I create them in a document? (PANTONE/HKS) - Colours/images: CYMK or RBG? What is the difference? Explanation of the differences of the colour spaces Images in bleed: What is there to consider? - Attributes: Overprinting and knocking out - Final artwork before print export - The PDF export: Which parameters do I have to set for an optimal output? - Which colour profile for which print? - Preflight check of the document: Checking the document for errors and optimising it - Checklist: What information does the printer need from me?. Learning objectives: The participants learn the printing basics of the layout programme InDesign and get a better understanding of the print preparation in this programme. *Note*: This event takes place with a minimum of 15 participants and is in German language.
